Details: Karl Lagerfeld designed a bespoke 20 x 3 meter photographic mural-style
installation alongside Metropole’s swimming pool, ODYSSEY
The mural was inspired by the Journey of Ulysses around the Mediterranean Sea
from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey
The mural is made of 18 etched glass panels showcasing muses in togas
designed by Karl Lagerfeld
The images of the models were superimposed onto photographs of the Greek
coastline taken between the 1850s and 1860s
The mural is lit by a LED system - it adjusts according to the surrounding natural
light, and creates effects of movement
